Is this a proper (simplistic) understanding of evolution via Natural Selection?

Its not a bad one because it has to do with a bear being different and that difference makes him able to survive. But I would add a bit more on not just how the white bear survived but it was able to reproduce. Because natural selection is based on the ability to create offspring, less about the ability to live longer.
